NW Children's Outreach, Stuffed Bunnies & 100 Pack 'n' Plays…Ready??

I don’t know about you, but whenever something in life is taking up too much of my energy, I need to yank my head out of my own problems and focus on someone who needs my help and frankly, somewhere I can make a difference.B My health stuff is driving me crazy. What about you? House hunt driving you nuts and ready for a brain break? Whatever it is in your life that is taking up too much space….ready to shift to something you can do to help someone else?B We are!
NCO Super Organization!
I’ve blogged about NCO before–Northwest Children’s Outreach and how amazing this non-profit is! Eight warehouse locations in the Portland/Vancouver area. Open 3.5 hours a week, warehouse space is donated and all workers are volunteers. NCO serves over 500 organizations in our area taking care of needy kiddo’s from preemie to age 18. And they need us & YOU!
This year my husband Mark and I are encouraging our friends to join us some deliberate giving of time & resources as we support NCO.
Three ways we & you can help!
1. 100 Pack ‘n’ Plays by November 30th!B Pack ‘n’ Play is an inexpensive way to provide a save spot for babies to sleep and toddlers to play.B For each Pack ‘n’ Play donated, we will match up to 100!B Here is a $40 Graco Pack ‘n’ Play available at Walmart online. Or you can drop a tax deductible cash donation for $40 off to any of the Portland are warehouses during their week day hours. Be sure to let me know you did this so we can track!!
2. If you don’t have $40 but you have a sewing machine and great fabric scraps…help us make stuffed bunnies. I am NOT a sewer so this is way outside my comfort zone. But I figure This is the most simple pattern ever–I have to give it a good shot! Please join me–you don’t have to be perfect. We want each child to receive a stuffed animal when we pack their clothes.B Aren’t these cute??B Here is the pattern for $8 via Etsy.B fabric bunnies3. If you don’t have $ and you don’t sew but you have time on your hands, then your time is wonderful! Each NCO warehouse has it’s own schedule, but they are open one day each week for 2 hours and one evening each week for 1.5 hours.B Help meet the needs of Portland children by volunteering your time to pack items specific to each need.
